It has been a week full of exciting concert news for the alternative music fan. First, the Coachella lineup was announced, and then in its first day of regular sales, the event sold out. Then, the confirmation of more bands added to this year’s Vive Latino had fans counting down to the music festival taking place from March 23rd through the 25th in Mexico City.
Now, the event organizer’s of Indie-O Music Fest, one of Mexico’s most important award ceremonies which recognizes independent musicianship, announces the performers for the 8th annual event.
Amongst them are Thurston Moore and Lee Ranaldo, founders of Sonic Youth, both of which will be presenting their solo projects. Canadians City and Colour, Wild Flag, Kurt Vile, the Violators and Youth Lagoon have also been confirmed.
All of the artist’s mentioned will be performing in Mexico City for the first time as part of the Indie-O Fest 2012, which according to a release sent by the organizer’s, will be a more eclectic and multifaceted event that will cover every corner of the independent alternative music community.
Tickets go on sale February 1st. Prices are yet to be made public.
