Mariachi USA Festival 2013 Jose Alfredo Jimenez
On the 40th year of his passing, Jose Alfredo Jimenez, one of the most highly regarded Mexican composers and singers of all time, will be recognized with a special tribute during the Mariachi USA Festival 2013. The tribute will include medleys as performed by each of the showcasing mariachi groups.

Held on Saturday, June 29, 2013 at the Hollywood Bowl, the festival will celebrate Jimenez’s musical trajectory, which gave birth to over 1,000 songs that through generations have become an integral part of mariachi music.

Through the decades, artists from various musical backgrounds have recorded many of his songs, such as “Ella”, “Paloma Querida”, “Media Vuelta”, “El Rey”, “Sin Sangre En Las Venas”, “El Jinete”, “Si Nos Dejan”, “Amanecí En Tus Brazos”, “El Hijo Del Pueblo”, and “Que Te Vaya Bonito”. Maná, Joaquín Sabina, Antonio Aguilar, Vikki Carr, and Julio Iglesias are a few of those artists.

This year, the mariachi festival will also feature Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlan, Grammy Nominee Mariachi Los Arrieros del Valle from Texas, Mariachi Estrella de Jalisco, Mariachi Los Reyes, and the Festival debut of Grammy Nominee Trio Ellas.

Mariachi USA 2013 takes place Saturday, June 29, 2013 at the Hollywood Bowl. Tickets, $28.50-$184.08, are available here.
