Homenaje al Curandero major, Mario "Lomar" Lopez. Curanderos perform "Perro" at Al Borde's Acoustic Sessions

This video was filmed in 2008 during an Al Borde Acoustic Sessions, and is just one of the numerous memories that Mario left the Latin alternative music community. 

Al Borde’s “Acoustic Sessions” concert on Friday, December 5 drew a record crowd of Latin alternative rock fans who couldn’t miss a free live performance by renowned Latin alternative indie rock group Curanderos at the Casa del Mexicano in Boyle Heights.

Fans were captivated by Curanderos’ acoustic rendition of their cult following favorites “One Last Cigarette” and “Perro”.

There are many bands that have the local Latin alternative music scene buzzing, but few have the electrifying stage presence, outstanding repertoire, and long-standing trajectory as Curanderos, led by Mario “Lomar” Lopez who died Thursday, June 21, 2012 due to an aneurysm.
