Hey Cali! Here's your Vans Warped Tour Twenty Ten Rundown

The first stop to the 2010 Warped Tour takes place this coming Friday at the Home Depot Center in Carson, CA. Serving as the 16th installment of the tour, Vans Warped Tour Twenty Ten, which is once again sponsored by the Vans apparel company, has gathered a selection of the best rock, punk, rockabilly, alternative, ska, electronica, emo and hardcore bands from around the country to tour the states in a total of 43 Warped Tour stops.

Missing from this year's tour, however, is the flavor that was present in Warped Tour past by established Latin Alternative acts. A Molotov, a Pinker Tones and an Allison are unaccounted for in this year's tour where punk-rock band Manic Hispanic seems to be the only Latin band to stand out from the long list of musical acts.

Bands such as The All-American Rejects, Andrew W.K., Bring Me the Horizon, Motion City Soundtrack, Reel Big Fish, Sum 41 and We the Kings reign as main-stage performers. The Dillinger Escape Plan, Emarosa, Automatic Loveletter and Orange County-based rockers, New Years Day, who are in full production of their sophomore album, are a few of the must-catch acts that will be performing on the smaller stages located throughout the festival. Also on their sophomore effort is Attack Attack! who will be taking part of the VWT wave in its entirety from June 25 to August 15.

 

Other than the extensive list of rock bands, the highlights in this years' Warped Tour includes a free program guide with 411 on the bands, a space to write “memos to self”, a scavenger hunt list and other tour related info that will get you sailing through the festival. Also to help navigate your way through the crowds in time to catch the next performance on your “must-see list”, are the new VWT Android and iPhone applications that help you stay on top of the latest festival news and updates right from your celly.

As part of your Tour countdown, you can catch a couple of the performing bands as they make a guest appearance throughout this week on KROQ-FM's syndicated radio show, Loveline, hosted by Psycho Mike and Dr. Drew. Punk bands, Face to Face and Sum 41, both of which are playing all of the 43 dates of the tour, will bring the VWT appearances on Loveline to a close with the first mentioned appearing tonight and Sum 41 making their radio appearance Thursday evening. Loveline airs from 10p.m. to 12p.m. PST.

 

The general admission ticket fees vary from venue to venue with the California shows priced at $33.00 (Carson, Mountain View, Marysville), $30.75 (Ventura), $33.27 (San Diego) and $32.75 (Pomona) through LiveNation.com and Ticketmaster.
