Celso Piña, El Sonido Callejero and Santos de Los Angeles Sound Off In Long Beach

The date is set for June 14 at the Rhythm Lounge in Long Beach for a gathering of Latin-infused cumbia, ska and reggae bands that under the event name “Latin Music Invasion” will kick start the 2012 traveling series that has San Diego, Oakland, San Francisco, San Jose, Sacramento, New York, Chicago and Miami on its list of pit stops. 

The tour will also stop south of the border to Tijuana, Guadalajara, Mexico City, Monterrey, and over seas to Europe as well.

For the Long Beach date, Celso Piña, El Sonido Callejero and Santos de Los Angeles have been summoned to ignite the Latin alternative effort.

Produced by A&M Entertainment, "Latin Music Invasion" combines Southern California-based bands with international acts in an effort to promote the talent of local artists. In this case, the event poses the opportunity for El Sonido Callejero and Santos de Los Angeles, two relatively new comers in the community who due to their ongoing footwork to spread their music throughout diverse venues have garnered loyal fans in various cities, to showcase alongside the talented accordionist Celso Piña. The pioneer in the fusion of tropical sounds has served as influential in the music careers of bands such as Café Tacuba, El Gran Silencio, Santa Sabina and Resorte.

Tangible, pre-sale tickets are available at Sound Bite Studios, Yuris Records, Discos Barba Azul and Discos el Papi for $18. The event welcomes a 21 and over crowd.
