Rockers Kinky And Molotov Say YES! To LéaLA Book Festival

Latin rockers Kinky and Molotov are proving that picking up a book is just as cool as picking up a guitar. Both Mexican rock bands will conclude the musical showcase portion of the 3-day LéaLA Spanish book fair which is making its US debut from April 29th to May 1st at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

 

 

The Sunday, May 1st concert performance is part of Molotov’s “Don’t You Know We’re Loco? Tour 2011”, which kicked off on March 1st in Tapachula, Mexico and will conclude on July 7th in Switzerland.

For electronic rock band, Kinky, the gig with the LéaLA book festival follows their April 30th gig in El Paso, Texas where they’re set to perform in the “Neon Desert Music Festival 2011” alongside Latin Alternative rockers Los Amigos Invisibles, Girl In A Comma and others.

Legendary singing superstar, "El Príncipe de la Canción" ("The Prince of Song"), José José, along with Mexican regional performers Lupillo Rivera, Banda El Limon, and Pedro Fernandez, will also partake in the musical aspects of the affair with evening concerts at the Nokia Theatre. According to the event Website, seminars and workshops about popular trends, current events, the vitality of Latino culture in the U.S. and Latin America, and the history and roots of Latin American countries, will fill the daily programs. LéaLA (read L.A.) will feature more than 80 renowned authors from different Latin American countries during the free and open to the public event. The Spanish language book festival is an initiative by the University of Guadalajara USA Foundation and supported by the Guadalajara International Book Fair, Feria Internacional del Libro, known worldwide as FIL; and the University of Guadalajara in Los Angeles.

Admission to LéaLA is free. Event hours are from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Los Angeles Convention Center, Concourse Hall, 1201 South Figueroa St., Los Angeles, 90015.
