Salvadorian-American designer Johana Hernandez presented her latest GLAUDI collection at Project Ethos held at L.A.’s the Avalon on March 13, 2012. The collection consisted of evening gowns and cocktail dresses in lace, sheer and metallic materials, with enhanced shoulders, asymmetrical necklines, mullet hemlines, and metal sequence, a favorite of the young designer. With the exception of one lime green evening gown embellished with gold detailing, the collection coexisted in a color palette of primarily hot pink, black, and gold.

Driven by all things romantic, L.A. designer Anthony Franco is also influenced by the beats of classic 60’s tunes such as those delivered by the legendary Elvis and Grace Jones. For his most recent work, his Spring/Summer 2012 collection, which debuted as part of Los Angeles Fashion week, romance and music were equal culprits in the penning of the young designer’s men’s and women’s wear collection. But more specifically, it was the dusk settings of a vacation to Zihuatanejo, Mexico and “Girls on Film” by Duran Duran that motivated the designer to create a line that showcased refined men’s tailored suits and day wear, along with women’s evening dresses and beachwear.
